If you took the subway on Wednesday you may have got a shock when you noticed another passenger who had ‘forgotten’ to put on his pants (or trousers in the UK).  If so, he was probably taking part in the ‘No Pants Subway Ride‘: an annual event, which began as a prank by a group of New Yorkers in 2002.   The idea is to get on the subway without pants and act completely normal. The participants do not behave as if they know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. The only unusual thing is their lack of pants. Over the last decade, the silly trend has spread to undergrounds all across the planet.
